Major-General Sir Henry Trotter GCVO DL (1844 – 16 July 1905) was Major General commanding the Brigade of Guards and General Officer Commanding the Home District.
Trotter was commissioned into the Grenadier Guards in 1862.[1]
He was promoted to Major-General in 1895 and appointed Major General commanding the Brigade of Guards and General Officer Commanding the Home District in 1897.[2]
He lived at Mortonhall in Edinburgh[3] and leased land to the Mortonhall Golf Club when it was formed in 1892.[4]
He was also Deputy Lieutenant of Berwickshire.[2]
In 1866 he married Eva Gifford; they went on to have one daughter and four sons (one of which was Lt Col. Edward Henry Trotter).[3]
